AIT as Austria’s largest non-university R&D institution participates through the business unit Molecular Diagnostics of the Center for Health & Bioresources. The goal of the business unit is to identify effective ways for early diagnosis of infections as well as age-related diseases such as diabetes, cancer and fibrotic diseases. We develop biomarkers based on nucleic acids and proteins and highly sensitive and specific biosensor systems for medical diagnostics. The business unit currently comprises a team of about 50 scientists with interdisciplinary expertise in biology, physics, chemistry and electrical engineering.
